About us

A husband-and-wife team of professional librarians

Brandon and Lauren Gipson each hold a master’s degree in library and information science. Between them they have run libraries on military installations, at colleges, in public library systems and entirely online.

Brandon spent more than 13 years in U.S. Air Force and Army installation libraries and finished his federal career as the sole librarian and library director at Altus Air Force Base. Lauren has served as a library director, deputy director and branch manager, led interlibrary loan at Air University Library, and now supports students around the world as an online librarian.

Our paths cross at Air University Library on Maxwell Air Force Base and in Altus, Oklahoma, where we both have worked. Today we both work remotely, so we know what it takes to run a library well from a distance. Gipson Library Services exists for institutions that need professional library leadership without a full-time position.
