Librarian of Record Services

A qualified librarian of record, without the full-time hire.

Gipson Library Services provides remote library direction and a named, credentialed librarian for schools, colleges and programs that need professional library oversight on a part-time, contract basis.

What a librarian of record does

Many institutions are expected to show that a professional librarian stands behind their library services, whether for accreditation, authorization or program review. Not every institution needs, or can support, a full-time position to do it.

A librarian of record is the named professional accountable for the library: its collection, its policies, the support students and faculty receive, and the documentation that proves it. We fill that role, remotely and on a schedule that fits the size of your institution.
